The Pied Piper......Shoot Liverpool

My friend Ian and I took part in this years' Shoot Liverpool. An event where all levels of Photographers get together and make a visual story board. This year's theme was The Pied Piper with a twist from the Bluecoat's Phil Olsen. The rats were hilariously substituted with pigeons. Our team....'Crazy Diamond' had three hours to snap a photo for our given phrases. Each phrase and matching image were compiled and exhibited in the Openeye gallery on Wood St. Some of our phrases were....'Little Lame Boy' and 'The Pied Piper.'

conflicts....

My degree work and I think all my other work includes condradicting themes, I love contrasting elements within my pieces as I think my personality reflects this. I am very analytical and indecisive!! I started working with dyptichs and multiple imagery in 'Bud' 'window' and 'Eden' on my last post. Such themes are life and death, beauty and decay, and also the contradiction between time and scale. Also from my degree work, I experimented with contrasting objects in the still lifes......flowers and meat.

getting started....

Since finishing my BA Hons Fine Art degree in 2007, I decided that i wanted to go travelling. I saved and jetted off in October 2008 - May 2009. This was an amazing experience and allowed me to constantly take photographs for six months. Since my return in may I'm finding my feet financially and also rediscovering my creative practice......I thought it would make sense to show you all some of my previous work and travelling images.....i hope you like.
